What is Camp Bluebird? A unique experience for adult cancer patients, Camp Bluebird is a 3-day, 2-night camp held once each year. Enjoy the beauty of nature and comfortable accommodations nestled in the Southwest Louisiana countryside where campers receive support in a creative, educational atmosphere. What is the purpose? • A time for listening, learning and sharing • Suggestions for adjusting to life with cancer • Tips for giving—and receiving—family support • An overview of non-medical needs and how to meet them • Answers to medical concerns • Information on treatments, side effects and nutrition • Creative outlets such as arts and crafts Who can attend? Any adult, age 18 or older, who has been diagnosed with cancer, is invited to attend. Where is the camp located? St. Charles Retreat Center in Moss Bluff - 2151 Sam Houston Parkway, Moss Bluff, LA 70611 What should I bring? Campers should bring toiletry items, linens, comfortable clothing, and walking shoes.
